It was a great start to the summer for the 2019s, as both teams took home championships at the PrimeTime Shootout at Babson College.

In the AA division on Saturday, the Penguins picked up a 9-2 win over NH Tomahawks, tied Buzzards 6-6, and then beat Team Central 8-4.
Sunday were the playoffs and the Penguins took down the RI Bulldogs 9-6 in the semifinals before beating Team Central 6-4 in the championship.
Offensively the Penguins were lead by Brian Abely, Michael Hauptman, and Jack Quinn. All three put up solid numbers to help the team n the offensive side of the ball. The defensive group, led by Mike McNeil, Patrick Thompson, and Cam Bartlett, had very strong second half performances in both the semifinals and finals locking down and securing the wins.
“It took us until the second half to really get going both offensively and defensively in the championship round,” coach Tony Fitti said. “Once we settled down, played our style of lacrosse good things started to happen. I am very proud of how hard this group worked throughout the weekend”
There was similar success in the A division.
In pool play, the Penguins tied Team 508 and beat 4 Leaf 7-2 on Saturday before beating the NH Tomahawks 9-6 and tying North Shore Storm on Sunday, thus qualifying for the championship.
In the championship, the Penguins blew out 4 Leaf 11-1 to claim the second 2019 title of the tournament for the Penguins.
“This was a total team effort, I am very proud of how this group came together,” Fitti said. “Everyone played a part in securing the 2019A championship, these guys deserve a lot of credit”
The Penguins 2019 A squad was powered by the offensive breakout of Mike Burke. Defensively, it was a total team effort led by goalies Luke Diliberto and Sam Schwartz
The weekend was a great start to the summer and the 2019s only hope to build on it in the coming weeks.
